Who doesn’t love a good cinnamon roll?

At Fairy Cakes (3586 Fraser Street) in East Vancouver, Cera Rivers bakes rolls in a variety of flavours. But they’ve all got the ooey-gooey goodness of your favourite cinnamon buns.

Last weekend, we picked up a blueberry roll ($3.75) at the vegan and nut-free cupcake shop’s first birthday party. It was moist, vanilla-flavoured, and satisfyingly sweet.

We also bought a slice of lemon cheesecake ($3.95) and a gluten-free vanilla cupcake with blackberry cheesecake icing ($3.75). Both were mmm.

Fairy Cakes started up in March 2012. The shop is just a few doors down the block from Nice Shoes (3568 Fraser Street), the city’s only vegan footwear store. It’s open every day except Tuesday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  2. Fairycakes is awesome. Everyone we know loves their goodies. And…as if you need another reason to like them…..they are also very generous and kind to a variety of charities. They have been a great supporter of our group – Small Animal Rescue.
